Lisa Goldin
Lisa Goldin’s first career was a professional ballet dancer, she was a dancer with Chile’s Santiago Ballet, Pacific Ballet Theater in Portland, The New Jersey Ballet and New York City’s Metropolitan Opera. She has also toured with Edward Villella and Friends, as well as performed with the Stars of the American ballet on the Kremlin Stage in Moscow.
Lisa began studying Pilates in 1990 while continuing her career in ballet. She became an instructor in 1991, training with Brenda Anderson and Julie Sorrentino at the New York City based studio, "Body Balance."
In 1997, Lisa moved to Los Angeles where she worked as an instructor at Hollywood’s renowned “Winsor Fitness” owned by Mari Winsor, author of “The Pilates Powerhouse.” As a Pilates instructor Lisa has worked with members of the New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theater and instructed such celebrities as Sandra Bullock, Sharon Stone, Rutger Haur, George Segal, Wendy Malick, Danny Glover, Jamie Lee Curtis, Anne Archer and Leslie Ann Warren.
Lisa has worked with many of Pilates Elders including: Carola Trier, Romana Kryzanowska and Jay Grimes who have all studied directly under Joseph Pilates. She has also worked side-by-side with physical therapists. Lisa is always continuing her education in Pilates by working with the very best in her field.
In 1999, Lisa moved to the Bay Area to open the Contra Costa Pilates Center. Lisa continues her work as an instructor dedicated to promoting the kind of physical awareness, strength and agility she has found as a professional dancer.
